Responsible gambling
Gambling should be entertainment that costs money, not a way to earn it or to escape problems. Revolut actually gives you some of the best tools to stay in control. This page collects them, plus the casino-side limits and where to get help.
Before you play
- Set a budget for the month and each session, and treat it as spent.
- Set a time limit.
- Never borrow to gamble or use money meant for rent, bills or food.
- Do not chase losses. The next deposit is never "the one that wins it back".
- Don't play when upset, tired or drinking.
Revolut's own controls
Revolut is unusually helpful here, because the tools are in the app you already use to pay:
- Gambling block. Turn off gambling payments entirely in the app's card or security settings. Some setups add a cooling-off delay before it can be turned back on, which makes an impulsive change harder.
- Spending limits. Set your own daily or monthly limits.
- Instant visibility. Every deposit shows in the app immediately, so you can see exactly what you have spent.
- A separate Pocket or account for winnings, so cashed-out money is not sitting where you deposit from.
Casino-side tools
At the casino, you can usually:
- set deposit or loss limits,
- take a cooling-off break,
- self-exclude for a set period or permanently.
Ask support in writing so you have a record. Offshore casinos sometimes offer fewer self-service tools than locally licensed ones – combine them with Revolut's gambling block for a stronger safety net.
Warning signs
- You spend more money or time than planned, more often.
- You chase losses or hide your gambling.
- You borrow or sell things to gamble.
- Gambling affects your sleep, work or relationships.
If several sound familiar, it is worth talking to someone.
Where to get help
Free, confidential support is available in most countries:
- Gamblers Anonymous – peer support worldwide: gamblersanonymous.org
- GamCare (UK) – helpline and live chat: gamcare.org.uk
- Gambling Therapy – free online support in several languages, worldwide: gamblingtherapy.org
Your local health service can also point you to specialist help.
Protecting others
Online casinos are for adults only. If others use your devices, keep your Revolut and casino logins private, use the gambling block, and never let anyone under 18 play.
